Service Dog

The first step to getting a service dog through our organization is to have a need for one. You must have a disability and be in need of a service your disability. You will need a letter from your medical provider stating you would benefit from a service dog.

 

We train and place service dogs based on the individual person and the dogs abilities. This placement is a joint decision with final approval by our staff. Once we review your application and determine if you are a candidate, you will be contacted and informed how to proceed.

 

Our Service Dogs range from $6,000 up depending on the program you need and the training your dog will need to help with your disability. We currently have 3 service dog prison programs that we are utilizing to help with the high service dog demand. This is a win/win for the prison inmates and folks that need a service dog.

 

The amount of time it takes to obtain a service dog also depends on the support you need and then the resulting training dog will need. This is anywhere from 3 months to a year.

 

If you wish to use your own dog for service dog training, under the ADA rules & regulations it can not be aggressive towards any dogs, people or shy, fearful, timid of places, people or things. The training fee does not change if you use your own dog.

 

Emotional Support Dogs not considered service dogs under the ADA and have no public access rights.
